student from New Color Arts has won an award in a NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) Art Contest!

While others are still asking, “What’s the point of learning art?”, NASA is already using art to explore the future! Our student Zing has just received an Honorable Mention in the 10th Grade Group of the 2025 NASA Student Art Contest for their artwork “Future Land”. The competition had over 2,000 student participants, and only 10 students were awarded in the 10th-grade category.

What is the NASA Student Art Contest?

It is a creative challenge officially organized by NASA for students around the world, integrating art and science! Each year, the themes revolve around futuristic technology, space exploration, and Earth science. This year’s competition focused on three key directions:

Flight: Imagine the future of air transportation — how autonomous technology and innovative aircraft can improve aviation and safety.
Earth: Highlight global environmental issues like climate change, carbon emissions, cloud formations, and wind speeds, using art to express Earth science discoveries.
Moon to Mars: Design future space missions, including interplanetary architecture, astronaut habitats, and planetary exploration technology.

Zing’s artwork envisions a future where humanity builds homes in space, using painting to express curiosity and imagination toward science, the future, and the cosmos.

At New Color Arts, we believe that art is not just a skill — it’s a way of thinking across disciplines! In the world of tomorrow, imagination and creativity will be the most valuable assets. And art is the best tool to nurture those abilities.

当你还在问“学画画有什么用？”的时候，NASA已经在用艺术探索未来！ 我们的学生ZhiPeng，刚刚在2025 NASA Student Art Contest中凭借作品《Future Land》荣获10年级组 Honorable Mention！

什么是NASA学生艺术竞赛？

这不仅是一场普通的绘画比赛，而是NASA官方为全球学生打造的艺术与科技融合的创意挑战赛！每年的主题都围绕未来科技、宇宙探索和地球科学展开，今年的比赛重点探索三个方向：

Flight（飞行）—— 想象未来的空中交通，如何通过自动驾驶技术和创新飞行器改善航空运输和安全。Earth（地球）—— 关注气候变化、碳排放、云层、风速等全球环境问题，通过艺术呈现地球的科学探索。Moon to Mars（月球到火星）—— 设计未来的太空任务，包括星际建筑、宇航员居住舱、行星探索科技等。

Zing的作品描绘了人类在太空建立未来家园的设想，他用画笔表达了对科技、未来和宇宙的探索。这说明，艺术不仅仅是技能，更是一种跨学科的思维方式！在未来世界，想象力和创造力才是最稀缺的能力，而艺术，正是培养这些能力的最佳工具！
